Poking up through the protection of a heavily fortified stone plinth, the living areas sit in a radial formation, maximising their openness to the awe-inspiring ocean outlook. On the Atlantic’s edge a proposal was developed for 4 holiday homes on Ballyheigue Beach, Co. Kerry. The Living areas are strategically arrayed above the sleeping level, elevating the living area’s optimising access to both the panoramic sea views and natural sun light. At fulcrum of the living area is an open wood fireplace becoming the heart of the family holiday experience. Nestled below, within the protection of the natural stone plinth the sleeping quarters are grounded, protected and still.
